It stood in Joplin, MO, just a block off Route 66. The motel was raised, and a collector reportedly purchased the signed. This is a painting, all hand painted by me. This sign is probably the best mid-century modern motel sign I have found. I just love look of it, the sign, and the painting. I painted it in a comic-ized style, because I like the edgy look of the unusual lines and shading. I think it looks more pop art-y that way.It is varnished with a satin UV protective varnish, so it will remain looking bright for a very, very long time. The size is 48” x 48”.PLEASE NOTE: This painting it not stretched. It does not have a frame. It will come to you rolled in a shipping tube. You will want to have it stretched (mounted) on stretcher bars (inside frame structure) by a local art framer.
