This contemporary metal art piece was so fun, yet challenging. It was the first time I focused on making urban/industrial/street art. I really like street art and graffiti. The styles of lettering is amazing and much of it is very beautiful… I think so anyway. I especially like the walls that have layers upon layers of graffiti. It is like a colorful cacophony of art and lettering.

So this piece is my abstract attempt at a street art look. I was not trying to copy a graffiti’ed wall, but instead I was creating the total look and feel of an old abandon metal industrial building in a deserted part of town, its walls covered by graffiti.

My modern metal wall art is mounted on a cradled wood panel. It hangs from a wire and hook just like a canvas. The sides are finished in black.
